Therapeutic approach
I like to refer to my approach to therapy as a snowflake approach. Meaning, I treat every client like they are their unique snowflake. I wouldn't use the same techniques on every person I see because we don’t all have the same needs, even if our present concerns are similar, there are so many different ways to approach a problem or concern. I’m very passionate about getting to know you as an individual, learning what your hobbies are, and what you're passionate about, and seeing how we can customize your treatment to be specifically for you.
I use evidence-based techniques such as CBT and DBT. But I am also a very solution-focused therapist. I like to look at the relationships in your lives and how they are serving you. These relationships can involve other people or they can be the relationship you have with yourself, a hobby, or even the relationship you have with your favorite TV show character. There's such a wide range of relationships in our lives.
A few techniques that I utilize are things such as mindfulness, creative writing, expressive arts, music, and body movement.
Let’s get started!
Making the choice to start therapy is a big deal and it shows so much effort and strength just to make that first step. The therapeutic process is not always easy, not every session will end with a smile. Sometimes things are gonna feel hard, but I wanna encourage you to keep pushing through the hard discomfort so that we can get to a better place together.
